Crystals in My Bones

I was once a girl filled with innocence

A love of life and wilful ignorance

The mages they came

And life was never the same

Imprisoned within arcana prime

Life that was never mine

I was twisted from a girl into a monster

A fusion of magic, rabbit and wonder

They bound their crystals to my bones

Turned my body into something they owned

A living weapon, arcane design

A fractured soul in a vessel not mine

A dreamer forced awake too soon

Under a cold and endless moon

Still I whisper deep inside

Of fields where fireflies collide

Fireflies…..

I am the bulwark against the storm

The girl from which everything was torn

Thrust into a fight that was never mine

Not the devil nor divine

I have seen through all your lies

There is no room for compromise

Going to remake a world filled with fireflies

Chains broke with a violent sound

Arcane echoes shaking the ground

Power surged through crystal veins

Fuelled by fury, loss and pain

I tore apart their sacred halls

Watched their empire start to fall

Every spell they cast on me

Now returns in symmetry

But inside the rage I keep

A fragile heart that still can weep

A little girl who’s lost her way

Still wishing for a softer day

I fight so none will feel this pain

No more souls in arcane chains

No more lives remade by force

No more broken, twisted course
