Verse 1
Forty days in the desert land,
Led by the Spirit, God's holy plan.
Hunger rising, yet faith holds strong,
Temptation comes, but I belong.
Pre-Chorus
“If You’re the Son, turn this stone to bread.”
But Jesus answered, with truth instead:
Chorus
“It is written, man won’t live by bread alone,
But by every word from the mouth of God’s throne.”
In the wilderness, my strength will rise,
For the Word of the Lord is my guiding light.
Verse 2
On a mountain high, kingdoms in sight,
The devil whispers, “All this is mine.”
“Bow before me, and it’s yours to claim,”
But Jesus stands firm in the Father’s name.
Pre-Chorus
“Worship the Lord, serve only Him.”
The tempter’s power starts to grow dim.
Chorus
“It is written, man won’t live by bread alone,
But by every word from the mouth of God’s throne.”
In the wilderness, my strength will rise,
For the Word of the Lord is my guiding light.
Verse 3
The enemy comes with deceitful lies,
“Take the easy road, no need to strive.”
But Jesus speaks with authority,
“The Father’s will is enough for me.”
Pre-Chorus
“Do not test the Lord, His ways are true.”
In the face of trials, His grace breaks through.
Chorus
“It is written, man won’t live by bread alone,
But by every word from the mouth of God’s throne.”
In the wilderness, my strength will rise,
For the Word of the Lord is my guiding light.
Bridge
Thrown to the temple's height,
“Throw Yourself, prove Your might.”
But Jesus says, “Do not test the Lord,
My faith is steadfast, my hope is sure.”
Outro
In the wilderness, He conquered sin,
With the Word of God, the battle He’d win.
So when trials come, and temptations rise,
I’ll stand on His truth, with my eyes on Christ.
