I closed my eyes and the room fell away
Like a curtain drawn by a hand I couldn’t see
Breath turned into colors, colors learned my name
Every thought I ever had was suddenly free
The walls started breathing, time came undone
A thousand lifetimes in the blink of an eye
I wasn’t a body, I wasn’t me
I was nothing more than everything attached to everything that is alive.
And something ancient whispered soft and slow
“You’ve been here before, you just forgot you know”
The universe opened its eyes.
And stared directly, into mine.
I crossed a line I didn’t know was there
Past fear, past flesh, past prayer
Met myself in a million forms
In a place where love is the law, not the storm
If heaven’s real, it’s closer than it seems
Just beyond the veil, inside the dream
Geometry danced like it knew my soul
Laughing in patterns older than time
Faces of light with no eyes at all
Teaching truth without words or lines
They said, “You’re safe, but you can’t stay long
You’re still wearing weight, still tied to a name”
Then they showed me the beauty and the wrong
And how pain and love are the very same
I felt my heart break open wide
Every regret, every tear, collide
I crossed a line I didn’t know was there
Past fear, past flesh, past prayer
Met myself in a million forms
In a place where love is the law, not the storm
If heaven’s real, it’s closer than it seems
Just beyond the veil, inside the dream
I saw the universe inhale
And I exhaled everything I’ve been
Every lie I told myself
Every loss, every sin
For a moment I remembered why I’m here
Why the hurt, why the fight, why the years
Then the light began to fade
And the answers slipped away
I crossed a line I didn’t know was there
Left my shadow hanging in the air
Came back shaking, but somehow whole
With a crack of light in my soul
If love’s a truth we’re meant to find
It lives beyond space, beyond the mind
Now I walk this world a little less blind
Knowing there’s more than the eyes can see
I don’t chase the door, I don’t beg for a sign
I carry the echo inside of me
Between the breath and the light
I know it’s waiting…
Patient…
For me.
