I wore the weight of yesterday
Like chains I couldn’t see,
Smiled for all the world outside
While breaking silently.
I took some roads that hurt my soul,
Got lost too many nights,
But somewhere in the darkest storm,
I never lost my light.
Every scar became a lesson,
Every tear became a prayer.
When I thought I had nothing left,
Hope was waiting there.
I’m still here, I’m still standing,
With a heart that’s learning how to heal.
I’ve walked through fire, faced my demons,
Now I’m finally learning what is real.
I’m a fighter, I’m a mother,
Every sunrise gives me one more chance.
My past may tell a story,
But it won’t decide who I am.
I’m still here…
Little voices call me “Mama,”
They’re the reason that I rise.
When they look at me with faith,
I see strength through their eyes.
I want them to remember me
For the love I chose to give,
Not the battles that I fought,
But the way I learned to live.
I don’t need to hide my story,
I don’t need to erase the pain.
Every chapter made me stronger,
Every loss became my gain.
If someone else is feeling broken,
Wondering if they’ll make it through,
I’ll stand and say, “Keep holding on—
There’s a better life for you.”
I’m still here, I’m still dreaming,
With a future brighter than my past.
Every step I take reminds me
Even broken hearts can last.
I’m a fighter, I’m a mother,
I’m becoming who I’m meant to be.
The road was long, but I kept going,
And that’s the greatest part of me.
No, I won’t be defined by yesterday…
I’m still here.
And tomorrow is calling my name.
