What happened to the innocent child,
The little one so very meek and mild?
The child so many people once knew,
Do you still carry that child within you?
If you take the bricks from your wall,
If you could climb back up from that painful fall,
If you were able to reach beyond your fears,
And break free from those bloody years,
Would that child of innocence still be?
Would that child still smile back at me?
'Tis just a dream, this I know,
Back in time, we can never go.
That innocent child is forever gone,
Buried beneath all the painful wrong.
