Prompt / Lyrics
The night was still, the hills were cold, The enemy camped, so fierce and bold. But one servant trembled at dawn’s first gleam, Seeing the horses that filled his dream. “Elisha, master, what shall we do? They’ve come to take us — there’s more than a few!” But the prophet smiled as calm as can be, “Open his eyes, Lord, let him see.” Oh, Jehovah’s fiery army shines, Through the storm and the hardest times. If God is for us, what can we fear? His mighty chariots are always near! The veil was lifted, his fear erased, The mountain with flaming chariots blazed. An army of light, Jehovah’s power, Guarded his servants that very hour. The foes came near, their hearts full of pride, But Jehovah struck, their sight aside. They could see the road, but not the plan, Led by the prophet, a humble man. Oh, Jehovah’s fiery army shines, Through the storm and the hardest times. If God is for us, what can we fear? His mighty chariots are always near! "Follow me, soldiers, I’ll show your way,!" They marched through fields, where the morning lay. To Samaria’s gate, they reached at last, Their boastful plans, now fading fast. The king cried out, “Shall I strike them low?” His sword was ready, his face aglow. But Elisha spoke with mercy’s call, “Feed them instead — that’s better for all.” Oh, Jehovah’s fiery army shines, Through the storm and the hardest times. If God is for us, what can we fear? His mighty chariots are always near! So tables were set, with bread and wine, And enemies ate, ‘neath the olive and pine. Their hearts were softened, their rage released, As kindness turned, to a lasting peace. Word spread wide, of the prophet’s deed, How love had conquered, a ruthless creed. No more raids, came by Syria’s hand, Jehovah’s power, did guard the land. Oh, Jehovah’s fiery army shines, Through the storm and the hardest times. If God is for us, what can we fear? His mighty chariots are always near! Through every trial, I’ve learned to say, Jehovah is near, He’ll show the way. When fear surrounds, His angels stay true, The mountains still blaze, protecting you. So if you’re weary, and faith feels small, Remember His chariots, stand for us all. The battle’s not ours, His strength won’t tire, He shields His friends, with a wall of fire. Oh, Jehovah’s fiery army shines, Through the storm and the hardest times. If God is for us, what can we fear? His mighty chariots are always near! When the night grows dark, and you can’t see clear, Just whisper His name — He’s always near. His angels move, where our eyes can’t find, A fiery host, both strong and kind. Oh, Jehovah’s fiery army shines, Through the storm and the hardest times. If God is for us, what can we fear? His mighty chariots are always near! Oh, Jehovah’s fiery army shines, Through the storm and the hardest times. If God is for us, what can we fear? His mighty chariots are always near! If God is for us, what can we fear? His mighty chariots are always near!
