Been tryin' to fit in, blend into the crowd

Lost in the shadows, tryin' to be loud

But all I get back, is the dirt on my skin

Tired of the fight, tired of the spin

Played the part, wore the mask

Thought I could turn my luck around at last

But the mirror's cracked, shows a fading face

Trying to find my own sacred place

Voices in my head, tell me I’m mad

Stories taller than the ones my old man had

Caught in a whirl, around and around

Where is truth, what’s lost, what’s found?

I’ve tried acting like others, it’s all been in vain

No more hiding behind the pretend and the pain

Always there, the real is in the dirt

Tired of the lies, tired of the hurt

My prophet, my mate, he claims he's divine

Says he’s Jesus, crossing every line

Sniffing illusions, spinning around

In front of love, making a sound

Is this in some scripture, some ancient script?

A fairy tale, or just a mind ripped?

He vows to give his love away

But what’s real in what he say?

I’ve tried acting like others, it’s all been in vain

In this chaos, am I the news?

Seeking truth in the pages of gloom
