Woke up late sunlight too shy to break

Empty coffee cup smells like moms pound cake

Clock ticking louder than it should today

A Lonely day, is grey, fake and stray

Lonely day, so blues crept in my head

Friends all busy, words left unsaid

No girlfriend no one warm in my bed

A lonely day is better for the the dead

Mom called to ask was I ok and ate the food she cooked

I said I was fine but she read me like a book

Dad's silence echoed after the morning pills he took

I told them both I loved them, and said it's something that I shook

Music's my only company now

Strings hum where words don’t allow

Lonely day blues creeping in my head
