Why is the news always such a drag?
No happy stories, just a waving red flag.
They say there’s chaos right down the street,
But I’m driving by, and it’s all so neat.
The media feeds on fear and lies,
Twisting the truth, pulling wo,ol over eyes.
Used to trust my neighbor, shake their hand,
Now we’re divided in a broken land.
Where’s the joy? Where’s the light?
Where’s the love that used to feel so right?
We used to be free, we used to be kind,
But now we’re just surviving in a world so blind.
Oh, land of the free? Home of the brave?
It’s feeling more like the land of the slaves.
Growing up, we had respect to share,
Neighbors waved, we’d settle things fair.
But now they’ve fooled us, poisoned our mind,
Told us to hate, and left love behind.
They track your moves, but can’t find the lost,
Soldiers fight wars at a terrible cost.
Not for freedom, but for greed and gain,
While we’re left here drowning in the pain.
They say it’s freedom, but it feels like chains,
Home of the brave? No, it’s fear that reigns.
The land of security, they sold us out,
So what’s the truth? What’s this all about?
Where’s the joy? Where’s the light?
Where’s the love that used to feel so right?
We used to be free, we used to be kind,
But now we’re just surviving in a world so blind.
Oh, land of the free? Home of the brave?
It’s feeling more like the land of the slaves.
Do you like being watched?
Do you like being tracked?
They chipped you for “safety,”
But what happens when you can’t get back?
They sell you fear, they sell you lies,
While we trade away the freedom they despise.
Where’s the land that we used to love?
Where’s the hope we all dreamed of?
Home of the brave? Land of the free?
It’s time we wake up… and set ourselves free.
