At The Train Station

You said you were going back to the town this afternoon. I told you I will pick you up.

You wrote in the letter, wait for me, the last train of the day.

I arrived early at the train station on a windy afternoon,

The train tracks are too long, the rain was drizzling,

The station was deserted, no one had arrived, I was lonely.

I absentmindedly dreamed of the moment that I could walk with you on the way home.

The wind lingered, your shirt entwined with my footsteps.

Then a thousand joys fluttered in my soul.

The long whistle of the train, I woke up, the train returned, people called each other.

One by one, one by one, some in pairs.

I tried to look but couldn't see you.

And the last person wasn't you.

Warm rain rolled down on my cheeks.

I absentmindedly took small, sad steps on the road back home.

The road that I just dreamed of walking with you.

The rain had stopped, the sky was dark like a dark soul.

The bewildered birds flew back to their nests,

The train whistle groaned, changing stations.

A star came so early, alone in the clouds in the splendid sky.
