Trying to Be Okay

Walking through shadows, trying to find my way

Every step feels heavier, but I keep the fight at bay

Hidden behind a smile, a silent scream inside

Holding back the tears, no one needs to see me cry

Fighting off the doubts that whisper in my mind

Trying to stay afloat, but I’m running out of time

I tell myself I’ll be okay someday

Even when it feels so far away

I feel not okay, but I try anyway

Hiding all my pain behind a brave facade

Every day’s a battle, still I push through

Not okay, but I’m doing what I have to do

Sometimes I fall, sometimes I break

But I get up and I remake

My own courage from the ache

Chasing hope in the darkest night

Struggling just to keep in sight

So here I stand, unmasked, unsure

Yet still fighting, trying to endure

Not okay, but I will keep trying
