I used to chase it all, the flash, the flame

Quick fix, fast love, another brand new name

Thought the prize was in the speed

But I burned right past what I really need

Bought the thing that broke too soon

Took the road that turned too sharp

Drank my feelings into silence

Ate my joy ‘til it fell apart

But now I’m slowing down, learning how to feel

Trading all my hurry for something real

Be still, He said, and know what’s true

Turns out the voice of God sounds a lot like you

I ain’t lost, I’m learning still

Learning how to become still

Daily questions, cards on the floor

Scripture whispered, not slammed like before

Answers come, not loud, but deep

In the soil of the soul where the old roots sleep

I may not hold the answers in my hand

But I know they rise when I understand

This ain’t about the finish line

It’s how I move with grace through time

So I’m slowing down, letting spirit steer

Turning every scar into a souvenir
