Verse 1
The day grew dark, the hour of death has come. His body was covered in blood and sweat, weak and in tremendous pain, the suffering he had to bare.....the weight of the world upon his shoulders; he was bruised and beaten. His flesh shredded and torn apart by the soldiers and the crowd. They spat on his face; smashed a crown of thorns upon his head, publicly stripped naked, humiliated, and nailed to that cross.
Chorus 1
The son of God, He paid for every sin and shame. He paid a price that was irreversible so that you and me can be saved......can be saved from the clutches of hell.
Verse 2
He cried "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". Those words echoes through eternity. The love that was showed for us on that Cross cuts deep and the world as it is today is still in disbelieve.....Wake up oh sleeper and see what God has done for you, stand up from where you are and go back to your Father
Chorus 2
He restored the bridge between us and God, so that we can come with boldness, gladness and joy to the Throne of Father. He took the shame and guilt away on that cross....of Calvary.
Bridge
He bore our shame, he bore our guilt, he took everything upon him to restore that what was once broken to pieces.
Oh prodigal son, return to the father, return to your savior, accept him in your heart as your Savior and Lord....time is short
