Empty Streets Under the Dark Sky

Yea yea, it's dark, dear lord

Walking empty streets alone

No one around, just shadows and stone

Silent echoes, city breathes in hush

Empty pavements hold memories and crush

Cars pass by, their lights flicker and fade

No one notices the scars that trade

Who’s making that sound in the night?

Voices whisper, hidden from sight

Why does darkness seem to swallow the light?

Is there no hope in the endless fight?

Everything is empty when darkness falls

Walls are looking hazy, shadows crawl

Wouldn’t it be beautiful if we could rise?

Leave behind the dark, pierce the skies

Bright with joy, and pure delight

Help each other, turn darkness into light

Why do we need darkness to define?

Can’t we just shine, forever shine?

Why do we get lost in others’ pain?

When the real fight is within, in our own domain

In this walk, all I see is emptiness

Darkness surrounds, no sweetness, no bliss

Long ago, life used to bloom and gleam

Now it's just a distant memory, a forgotten dream
