Rapture of the Broken Soul

Ash on my tongue, echoes of love long gone,

Dark whispers in the night, where I belong.

Once I was strong, a clown in the bright light,

Failed in love, lost in a fight,

Marriages broken, promises torn,

In the chaos, I was forlorn.

But then I saw her, shining in the gloom,

A spark in the darkness, dispelling my doom.

For a fleeting moment, I felt alive,

In her love, I’d survive.

Rapture! Lift me from this pain,

Her love, my salvation, or my chain,

Calling for her, my heart’s last plea,

But she’s gone, unfree.

Broken and shattered, I plead her name,

Ash, my love, I ignite this flame.
