The Edge of Prayer

Whispered waves, a silent plea,

Turning my heart to what I can’t see.

A coin spinning in the dead of night,

Seeking the truth, seeking the light.

Caught between the shadows and the dawn,

A hesitant step on the breaking lawn.

Avoiding the knees that would bow low,

Fearing the fall, hiding my truth in shadow.

But I realize my words can’t hide,

The truth inside that I can't deny.

A fragile edge, a thin disguise,

Reflecting the love that never dies.

God, I’m sorry, I’ve lost my way,

I’ve argued, I’ve fought, I’ve gone astray.

Here I stand, with open hands,

Seeking your mercy, understanding, your plans.

It’s never too late to turn around,

To find forgiveness where it’s found.

A chance to change, a brand new ride,

Walking with You, Lord, by my side.

The coin has landed, tails or heads,

But love’s the truth that always spreads.

I choose the light, I choose to see,

Forever rooted in Your mercy.
