Child of war, born in the rain

Lost my father, only memory is pain

Photos burned, but I still survive

Through the ashes, I’m keeping alive

I come from far, I carry the fight

But I hold my head high, I’ll be alright

No way back, I face the sky

I build my life, on my own I’ll rise

Born in '92 with the sirens loud

Mother held me close through the falling clouds

We fled to the West, searching for a chance

But trauma at home killed the balance

School fell apart, I was lost in the run

Turned to the streets, where the pain begun

Friends held me up, they kept me alive

Without their strength, I would not survive

I come from far, I carry the fight

But I hold my head high, I’ll be alright

No way back, I face the sky

I build my life, on my own I’ll rise

Stress cut me down, I was skin and bone

Lies to my parents, couldn’t call it home

Looked in the mirror, said: “this can’t be me”

Chose my own path, fought to be free

Work on the grind, gym gave me peace

Step by step, I found release

Now I found love, no turning back

This is my story, my heart on the track
