Rocky Mountain smoke
Gold clouds when I breathe
Everybody wanna love me
Baby, love ain’t free
Got a homegirl on my left side
Pretty face, dangerous eyes
Steal your heart, steal your hoodie
Disappear into the night
Driving past old memories
In a nicer car than before
Laughing with the windows down
Like they don’t hurt no more
Everybody wants something
Everybody wants a name
Funny how the faces change
But somehow stay the same
I hate that you’re honest
But I love that you’re honest
Thought I hated liars
Till I learned how good lying feels sometimes
And I hate when you don’t like
Something that I love
Maybe I’m just looking for myself
Inside everybody else
Wonder how I come across
When I walk into a room
Talking way too much
Or hiding in the corner too
Being around people feels
Like rehearsing for a play
Everybody knows their lines
I’m improvising every day
Sometimes I tell my whole life story
Sometimes I don’t say a thing
If it doesn’t mean something
It don’t mean anything
Maybe that’s my problem
I make poetry from pennies
Make a universe from dust
Find meaning in the smallest things
While everybody rushes past
Maybe that’s my problem
I need people to dive deep
Most folks only wanna swim
So I keep waiting at the bottom
Wondering why they never jump in
I hate that you’re honest
But I love that you’re honest
Thought I hated liars
Till I learned how good lying feels sometimes
And I hate when you don’t like
Something that I love
Maybe I’m just looking for myself
Inside everybody else
Inside everybody else
Inside everybody else
