The Survivor

A scholar, queen, and woman of deep grace,

Catherine Parr, the sixth, a king's true wife,

Did Henry's heart and troubled soul embrace,

And brought to his court a gentler, learned life.

She soothed the tyrant's pain, both physical and mind,

And for his children, showed a mother's care.

A patron of the arts, she was refined,

And sought for knowledge, wisdom to ensnare.

She championed reform, and dared to speak,

Her faith and intellect, a shining light.

Though whispers rose, and dangers seemed to leak,

She stood her ground, and argued for the right.

So let her name in history remain,

A queen of strength, who eased a king's harsh reign.
