Silent Storm

I see their eyes, they’re waiting on a word,

The weight of expectation hangs like thunder unheard.

The clock is ticking, their patience wearing thin,

But my voice is locked in a cage beneath my skin.

They don’t hear the screams in the quiet,

The battle in my chest growing defiant.

A tempest brews where my words should be,

Trapped in the silence that’s swallowing me.

Lightning in my veins, but the words won’t find

A way to the surface, they’re lost in the roar,
