The whistle cries like a ghost in the night

I’m chasing the wind on a steel-bent flight

With a cardboard palace

My throne in disguise

Stars as my ceiling

Moon in my eyes

Got the hobo train blues

Riding rail to rail

Through the whispering woods and the dusty trail

With a heart that’s free and shoes that lose

I’m singing out loud my hobo train blues

I caught a ride with a shadow and a dream

Past rivers that sparkle and hills that gleam

The wheels hum a tune only wanderers know

And the rhythm of the tracks won’t let me go

Every stop’s a muse
