Blessed is the one who walks not in the way
Of the wicked, or where sinners stay
Doesn’t sit in the seat of the scornful crowd
But delights in the Word, and speaks it loud
Like a tree by the water, firmly planted deep
Bearing fruit in season, a soul the Lord will keep
Leaves won’t wither, they shine in the sun
Whatever they do, will surely be done
Oh Lord, I wanna be—
Like a tree by the water, planted in Thee
The wicked are like chaff, blown by the wind
They won’t stand in the judgment for their sin
For the Lord knows the path of the righteous ones
But the way of the wicked will be undone
Day and night, I’ll meditate
On Your law, so true and great
You are my guide, my firm delight
In Your Word, I find my light
Like a tree by the water, firmly planted deep
Bearing fruit in season, a soul the Lord will keep
Leaves won’t wither, they shine in the sun
Whatever they do, will surely be done
Oh Lord, I wanna be—
Like a tree by the water, planted in Thee
