Breaking Free from the Past

Masking scars, silent fears, trudging through the dark

But now I see, the pain's a key, to find a brand new spark

Trauma's weight, binding tight, I stayed in the storm

Feared the cost, at what lost, I kept holding on

Tolerating the hurt, just to keep the peace

Forgot myself, lost in the brew, of false release

But cracks appear, light shines through, a new truth to seek

Breaking the chains, facing the rain, I’ve finally begun to speak

Healing sets me free, from the shadows of the past

Losing myself no more, I’ve found the strength at last

No more masks, no more fear, I’ll stand tall and proud

In my own reflection, I’ve become unbound

Told myself to hold on, to what I thought was real

But now I know, the love I owe, begins with how I feel

Courage grows, from deep within, I’m learning to trust

Loving myself first, I’m shedding all the dust

Trauma fades, peace in sight, I embrace the dawn

Self-respect, my new reflex, a new life is born
