There was a time I was numb, Novacane,

Painkillers for the trauma in my membrane.

Mary J. stole my whole memory lane,

Drownin’ in regrets, tryna wash off the stains.

Devil had a close grip, chain on my soul,

Whisperin’ shortcuts, toll after toll.

New-age Saul, blind to the light,

Till the scales fell off—now I’m seein’ my sight.

Cold nights, empty prayers in the dark,

Heart full of fire but my world left a mark.

Lost years, fogged mind, slow decay,

I survived every demon that said “you gon’ stay.”

I was numb, I was lost, I was chained,

Still rose from the dirt, let ‘em know I’m changed.

From the grip of the devil to breakin’ free,

If I did it from nothin’, it’s meant to be.

I seen friends turn ghosts, names on tees,

Mama cryin’ to a God she can barely see.

Every vice felt warm when the nights got cold,

Till the comfort turned cages, bars made of gold.

Mind in a war zone, soul in a trial,

Smile on my face but I’m dead for a while.

Talked to myself in the mirror like, “You alive?”

Answer came back like, “Only if you decide.”

Pressure made diamonds but cut me too,

Every scar a sentence I survived through.

Now my voice hit heavy like a gavel slam,

Judge, jury, proof—I’m a better man.

Ain’t no halo, still fight my flaws,

Still hear echoes of my old dark thoughts.

But faith hit louder than the shame I knew,

I ain’t perfect—just redeemed and true.
