The Old Rugged Cross of Forgiveness

The old rugged cross we shall draw near and dear to our hearts

The cross is a symbol of love and ultimate sacrifice

As Jesus came to save the world from sin

He was humbled beaten persecuted by sinners who had meanness and hatred within

Weighted steps were made carrying the cross subjected to a whip slashing tears in his skin

A Crown of thorns placed on his head piercing him while weeping blood was not enough

They nailed his feet and hands to the cross causing pain we can not understand how bad or rough

Hanging him in nail weighted agony not understanding why oh lord why….

Jesus then said forgive them to God as he exclaimed in a pleading cry

Jesus’ fed the masses ……he healed the sick …….the lame to walk ……..the dead to rise back up………the blind then able to see

God why weren’t these people not standing beside thee

The disciples betrayed him and ran for fear of their life

All a part of reconciliation of God to us through Jesus’ sacrifice

Now all we need to do is reconcile to Jesus for our sins and reach others to find him in heaven within

Find Jesus in our hearts today let him come in to stay
