Hovering

Suspended above ground Without moving In any particular direction Stable but going nowhere Waiting for friend gravity To lift or push or pull  Perennial, stationary Trajectory undisturbed Twisting, spinning all around Dizzy, gasping, clawing For anything to make it stop Drowning in air Answers evade me so I’m stuck hanging on this thread Dangling high Trying not to bounce All because I’ve no control Can’t move along alone Hindered by a lack of trust Stuck in your stare Now I’m stone, weighted down I neither float nor touch the ground My cries are small and go unheard In isolation…hovering
