Title: “Built From The Block”
Hook:
I came from the bottom where the cold wind blow,
Had dreams in my head but my pockets stayed low,
Had to hustle through the rain, had to learn my road,
Now I’m chasing every dollar like my life been owed.
Mama said slow down, don’t let the streets take your soul,
But the hunger in my chest kept pushing for more,
I seen friends turn ghosts, seen dreams hit the floor,
So I’m building something bigger than the life I knew before.
Verse 1:
I was raised where the struggle put a chip on your shoulder,
Young mind, old pain, had a heart getting colder,
Watching days turn nights, trying to make it through the pressure,
Every loss was a lesson, every scar was a message.
I remember empty fridges, lights off in the house,
Had faith in my vision when they counted me out,
They saw the situation, I saw a way out,
Had to turn my doubt into a reason to route.
Ain’t nobody gave me nothing, had to build my own name,
Walked through the fire, came back with a flame,
Some chase the spotlight, I was chasing a change,
Trying to break the cycle and rewrite the game.
Verse 2:
The city taught me patience, the struggle taught pride,
Had to keep my head up when the pressure got high,
Seen smiles turn fake when the money came around,
Seen loyalty disappear when success came to town.
I’m a product of the moments that nobody noticed,
Dreams in my pocket, determination focused,
Every step I took was a move toward greatness,
Had to fight for my future, couldn’t wait for somebody to save me.
Now I’m looking back at the road that I traveled,
All the pain and the problems made the man that I am.
