This is not addressed to my friends or my family,
But to the leaders and preachers who speak with assumed finality.
You have mastered the art of presentation,
But your theology is as deep as an influencer on vacation.
Why not present all sides instead of just the one you were told?
Some views you inherited are barely two hundred years old.
But we’ll revisit that later, trust me it’s gold.
At best, you’re mistaken. At worst, you’re pretending.
So we’ve got to examine the messages you’re sending.
Don’t underestimate what the enemy can weave —
Even shepherds can be used to mislead and deceive.
And you wave off the message, asking, “Where’s your degree?”
How did that work during the pandemic the shutdown and with the vaccine?
We saw how much nonsense gets a pass when it’s signed with a PhD.
Martin Luther came along and showed us the way,
To not appeal to authority and be led astray.
Degrees aren’t enough — they’re not even required for truth.
Just follow the branches all the way to the root.
How do I know that it’s not me too?
Because you can judge by the fruits which we’re about to do.
You need to examine and look for yourself not just sit there like an elf on a shelf.
Back to the leaders and preachers just stay in your lane.
Tend to your flock, baptize, and proclaim His name.
These waters are deep, rough and contested,
And you’re bringing a ferry boat where sharks swim infested.
At best your assembly gets lost in the sauce.
At worst they neglect the cross, grow weak and end up getting tossed.
