My Gratitude

Lord, your love fills life with such joy, I wouldn’t take it for granted.

Because every good thing comes from you, 

Like stems to blooming aromas in the air.

Like the sun rises in the east and the moon sets in the west.

Looking up at the stars we wished upon like every little prayer we give to you.

When the world tries to crush my soul,

With every breath that fills my lungs.

Every heartbeat calls for something true.

Reminds me that I’m alive because of you.

Every true choice I make leads me to where I will end, 

Every word I say, every action I do, should guide me to you.

I know I can’t see you, hear you, but I can feel you near.

Truth and acceptance are hard to let in, but you show me every day what it means to be grateful.

All the love in my family, all the friends that stayed by my side. 

Every battle I almost lost, you won for me because of your victory.

You are the one who’s faithful, true, loving, and good, but you’re more than that; you are light.

I’ll let your light break through and surrender all to you.

My life belongs to you, my fears start to fade away, then all I am left feeling is your shining love on everything that surrounds me.

I’ll keep worshiping you, with all my gratitude for everything true.
