Shadows of Survival

Always on edge, never at peace

Waiting for the storm to cease

Shadows lurking, fears increase

In this perpetual fight, I find my release

Walking through the crowd, I see the laughter roll by

Families holding tight, innocence in their eyes

But I’m lost in memories, shadows in my mind

Echoes of the past, I wish I could leave behind

Haunted by what used to be
