A Ransom in Exchange for Many

God did not cause our hopeless state,
Adam’s sin sealed everyone's fate.
Yet love refused to never sway,
Our loving Father had a way.

One perfect man had thrown it all,
So death passed down to great and small.
The wage of sin is death, we learned,
Yet God’s own justice must be firmed. 

A ransom given for so many,
God’s greatest gift, more rich than any.
Such priceless love that paid the cost,
To buy back all that Adam lost.

No flawed human could pay that price,
Our lives were stained by sin’s device.
No bull or goat could clear the debt,
Those signs foretold Christ’s payment yet.

A life for life the Law proclaimed,
A perfect man for guilt and shame.
A corresponding price required,
An equal to the one retired.

He proved God’s rule is just, not blame.
