All I want to see

Oh Father, hallowed be Thy name

Or is that just something we say?

I’ve been searching for the truth

But all I find is gray

I’ve heard Heaven’s got an answer

For every broken soul like me

But I’ve been staring into darkness

Waiting on something I can see

If You’re somewhere up there listening

If You still hear a sinner speak

I’m not asking You to save me

Just give me something to believe

Show me the truth, let it cut me to the bone

Shine Your light down every road I’ve walked alone

I’m not asking for Your mercy or forgiveness on my knees

Oh Father, if You’re listening, all I want is to see

I’ve watched good men lose it all

While the wicked walk away

I’ve seen prayers die in hospital rooms

And “God’s plan” explain the pain

I’ve watched mothers bury children

Watched faith dissolve to doubt

If there’s a reason for the suffering

Lord, I’m still trying to figure it out

I’ve carried all these questions

Like a cross I can’t put down

And every time I think I’ve found You

The darkness pulls me back around

Show me the truth, let it cut me to the bone

Shine Your light down every road I’ve walked alone

Maybe faith ain’t having answers

Maybe doubt don’t make me lost

Maybe You were never hiding

Maybe I just missed the cross

Maybe every scar I’m carrying

Ain’t proof You weren’t around

Maybe I’ve been looking to Heaven

While You were here on the ground

So Father…

Hallowed be Thy name

I don’t know if I understand You

But I’m calling just the same

I don’t need the sky to open

Don’t need angels over me

Just one small light in the darkness

Just enough for me to see

Show me the truth, even if it breaks what I believe

Shine Your light down through every shadow in me

I’m not asking for Your mercy, I’m not begging to be free

Oh Father, if You’re listening, all I want is to see

Show me the truth, don’t tell me what I want to hear

If I’ve gotta walk through Hell just to know that You were here

I don’t need all the answers, just one reason to believe
