Red dust on my boots

Sunburn on my nose

Cheap sunglasses

Dry wind in my clothes

Long road to Tucson

Radio turned down low

That first tall cactus

Said "Girl, you’re far from home"

wide open sky

Desert air makin’ my spirit fly

Laughin’ on porches, stories runnin’ wild

I came here searching , now reconciled

Arizona heat on my skin

Heart gettin’ soft, fallin’ back in

We’re in the kitchen

Flower on our hands

Cousins in the backyard

Bare feet in the sand

Photo on the fridge

Of us when we were small

One simple weekend

Made me feel ten feet tall

I thought I was chasin’

Somethin’ out there on my own

Found it in the quiet

Where the mountains glow

Now every time I’m faded

I close my eyes again

Smell that desert evenin’

Hear my cactus and my kin
