Prompt / Lyrics
I broke myself to build a life you never meant to save. You were countin’ every dollar while I dug us out of graves. All you did was to lie that we built the life together, and I wonder what you chip in while drainin myself for live built on lies. Never asked you for your money, never wanted what was yours, but you bled me dry and smiled while you walked out the door. Your eyes were cold and wicked, full of venom I ignored, And I should’ve seen it comin’ when your greed became the lord. Now I’m livin’ at rock bottom with the ruins at my feet, You took everything I cared for like it didn’t mean a thing. You burned through all our memories just to watch the ashes sting, But even in this darkness, there’s a fire I’m gonna bring. You can strip me of my pockets, but you can’t take what I become— Rock bottom ain’t my ending, it’s the place I rise up from. You twisted every promise till the truth was barely breathin’, Turned my kindness into weakness, turned my love into a reason. You chased the shine of money like it’s all you’ll ever need, But gold won’t keep you warm when you’re lyin’ in your greed. I begged you just to listen, but you never heard a sound. I should have listened to my inner self and said no to them all at the beginning, maybe my life would have turned out differently. The decision i made was swift but i never regretted doing so. — Now the silence that you left me is the strength I’ve finally found. One day you’ll face the mirror and the truth will cut you deep— You’ll see the cost of takin’ more than any soul should keep. You’ll drown inside the emptiness you carved out piece by piece, While I climb out of the wreckage, find my strength and find my peace. You tried to break me down, but you just sharpened every bone— Now I’m standin’ on the wreckage, and I’m claimin’ back my throne. Yeah, I’m climbin’ out of rock bottom, leavin’ all your lies behind, You can keep your bitter anger—I’m reclaimin’ my own mind. You tried to drag me under, but I’m stronger than you knew, And the man I’m gonna be won’t be defined by losin’ you. Rock bottom was the fall, but it’s also where I stand— And I’m walkin’ toward tomorrow with my heart back in my hands.
