Back to the Basics
Where do you stand?
In the morning
With an idea in palm of your hand
Open your eyes
And before your first blink
In that fraction of a second
What do you think?
It’s an infinity
Before the hot water hits you in the shower
Kinda like how many thoughts you had
In the time it took to hand her the flower
Sadly,
Soon after
Tragedy strikes
And you fall to your knees
During that eternity
To whom is it that you whisper, “Please....”
Two years later
Nothing at all
They didn’t bother
No missed call
Grace finally found You at a quarter past three
When things you decided
are going to get better
All because in an old jacket pocket
You found the old Love letter
Keep the Moment
And always remember
If you keep going half of a half
You can live forever
Take them with you
When you’re trying to keep it together
Pretending to be comfortable
In an uncomfortable sweater
Life is longer
And all things sweet must one day sour
But you’ll always have that time
When you danced in the kitchen with bare feet
The Circle completed
Time and Death defeated
If only for half an hour...
