Awakening at Twenty-Two

Oh, the days are slipping by,

With dreams that start to fly,

A boy on the edge of a craze,

Finding truth in a world ablaze.

At twenty-two, I breathe it in,

The lessons learned, where do I begin?

In the classroom walls, my mind still roams,

But outside, a wild heart calls me home.

Grains of sand through the hourglass show,

The boy I was, now shadows in tow,

Keeping pace with dreams so grand,

Stepping forth, to take a stand.

I’m rising from the ashes, I’m learning to fly,

With each lesson in life, I’m reaching the sky,

No longer just a whisper, I’m the voice of the land,

At twenty-two, I’m ready, let the journey expand.

The city lights, they shine so bright,

Showing me the paths of wrongs and rights,

Books in my hands, but I long for the street,

Balancing knowledge with the world at my feet.

Every challenge, every test,

I’m carving out my path, I won’t rest,

Growing from the boy I was before,
