Hook
I love You even though I know loving’s hard,
Burden heavy, pressing deep on my heart.
In this body, yeah, I’m torn apart,
Spirit, lead my steps—Jesus, teach my heart.
Can’t lean on my own, it just spreads scars,
Like flipping through the deck—can’t choose one card.

Verse 1
Agitated, angry, aggravated most days,
Had to amputate it—pluck it out—both ways.
Cut it off, yeah, cut it off three times,
Still antisocial, but He makes me shine.
I’m coachable—He’s unavoidable,
Still in the game though, fan that flame though.
He drives the work in me, sees the gold,
I just see the goal—He’s in control.
Like a symphony, the notes align,
But I’m still struggling most the time.
Sin creeps in, trying to remind me,
But through Jesus, victory finds me.
Devil begone—it’s history,
I’m with a God who’s infinitely
Standing by, running the race with endurance,
Can’t afford this—He paid the assurance.
Paid in blood, whip and lash, on the cross,
Buried, then He rose—ain’t no loss.
Pulled me out the mud, cleared my sentence,
Court date with death—He came as my defense.
Night terrors of a flame that burns forever,
Worms never die there—this is my letter:
Place your trust in Jesus, this a warning though,
Because He’s the only One worth holding close.

Bridge / Outro
This that bullet rain,
No gain without the pain.
Train on the trail—freight train in my brain,
Testing my sane frame,
Loose words wrapped around a crowded space,
Drawn deep inside a soul’s escape.
---
Short Verse / Final
in a maze where Christ's the only exit
vest on battle in where the chest is
Trial by fire overcome is where my best is
where the brightest at only where the
humble is
fumble then I get up I call
this persistence
I'm ample in a ant way of life
keep on workin no boss yet I keep lurking
irking all my enemies
