You forgot

I remember riding along with you in your big blue Ford,

laughing, sharing and making memories.

You were always taking the time to teach me something new,

something that could eventually help me one day.

You never claimed to be perfect, you were always so patient with me.

You helped me to see, that there was another way,

you were always ready to prevent me from straying.

you taught me everything you could,

you never let me be afraid to be me.

you taught me how to be okay,

you were always there for me,

no matter what time of day.

now with tears in my eyes,

I look up to the sky, and say,

"thank you for teaching me to be a better person,

for teaching me that no matter what, you"d love me unconditionally.

but brother, there was one thing you forgot to teach me,

and that was how to live without you."

you were getting so tired, you were wearing down,

but never didII thought, you"d be gone, in a blink of an eye.

never did i think I"d have to face this place without you here by my side. Your no longer here to chase the tears away.

everyday I struggle to keep my faith alive.

you were my big brother,

my best friend, the reason I never gave up the fight.

you taught me everything you could brother,

except you forgot one thing,

and that was how was I to live without you,

by my side.
