Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was soft as cotton, And everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to follow. It danced behind her all day long, its wool as white as snow.
Mary loved her lamb so dear, she held it close and near. They played together in the sun, their friendship second to none.
And when the day turned into night, the lamb curled up tight. , But Mary knew her lamb would stay, forever and a day.
And so Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow;
And everywhere that Mary went,
The lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school one day,
Which was against the rule;
It made the children laugh and play,
To see a lamb at school.
And so the teacher turned him out,
But still he lingered near;
And waited patiently about
Till Mary did appear.
“What makes the lamb love Mary so?”
The eager children cry;
“Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know,”
The teacher did reply
