Catastrophe on the highway

Found her crying in the alley one dark night

Skin and bones she was a pitiful sight

Tucked her in my jacket thought I'd save her life

Little did I know she'd cause me so much strife

Took her in the truck to get her checked and fine

She was purring loud like she'd had too much wine

Out of nowhere claws and fur began to fly

Swerved to dodge a mailbox kissed the ditch goodbye

Cat chaos on the highway oh what a scene

A furry tornado where my truck had been

She jumped on my shoulder thought she'd take the wheel

Now I'm stuck explaining how this wreck feels

Tow truck guy was laughing as he shook his head

Said he'd seen it all but this topped it instead

A mangy cat with eyes that gleamed like molten lead

Wreaking havoc leaving my truck for dead

At the vet they chuckled patched her little paw

Said I had a story rare as hen's teeth raw

I just shook my head and gave a weary sigh

She's a little menace but I can't say goodbye
