Awareness in the Shadows

Whispers in the wind, calling out my name,

In this field of green, nothing feels the same.

Beneath the open sky, doubts start to creep,

The ice box chills my bones, yet I'm lost in sleep.

Am I dancing through a dream? Can’t tell where I stand,

Reality’s a blurry line drawn in shifting sand.

I’m aware, I’m aware, of the shadows around me,

Playing games with my mind, like a ghost, I can’t see.

I’m aware, yes, I’m aware, of the chains that bind,

But I’ll break free, find the truth inside my mind.

Footsteps echo softly, as I wander through this maze,

Questions linger in the air, caught in a smoky haze.

Am I searching for an answer? A light to break the dawn?

In this realm of silence, where they say I don’t belong.

I’m aware, I’m aware, of the tales that they weave,

Hiding in the shadows, trying hard to deceive.

I’m aware, yes, I’m aware, of the lies that they spread,

Clawing at the fabric of the thoughts in my head.

But deep down in the echoes, there’s a spark, I can feel,

A whisper from my soul, reminding me to heal.

From the ashes of confusion, a flame ignites my heart,

In this field of green, it’s a brand new start.

So I’ll walk on through the night, casting fears away,

Knowing in my spirit, I’m alive, I’ll be okay.
