Faces in the Wind

Shadows fade, faces come and go

Built these walls, yet still I know

Lost in the crowd, feeling so alone

Echoes of pain, the seeds I've sown

Just another familiar face, slipping in and out

Countless names, still I doubt

Why they come, only to leave

This cycle of loss, it won’t let me breathe

Haunted by the ghosts of broken ties

Fear of the goodbye, the endless goodbyes

Shielded heart, scared to trust

Lost in the past, in the dust

I won’t fall again, I’ll stand tall

Even if they leave, I won’t crawl

Pain’s the price I’ve come to pay

But I won’t let it steal my day

They come back when it’s too late

Fading scars, sealed by fate

Don’t look back, just walk on

Strength renewed at dawn

Some wounds never fade, but I’ll survive

Learning to live, learning to thrive
