Prompt / Lyrics
Everybody’s talking about peace on the screen, Shaking hands in the spotlight, saying what they mean. But the bombs still fall while the cameras speak, And it all comes back to the same old theme: too much war, not enough peace. They call it “defense” when the guns increase, Change up the words, make the fire look neat. But the smoke still rises over broken streets, And the truth rings out in the dust and debris: too much war, not enough peace. We’ve got too much war and not enough peace, Too many broken hearts crying in the streets. Everybody’s talking like the answers are cheap, But there’s too much war and not enough peace!!! We hear “ceasefire,” “talks,” and “truce” on repeat, Round-table voices in expensive seats. But a child lies awake, scared to go to sleep, And their quiet eyes are a simple plea: too much war, not enough peace. They say “national interest,” “security needs,” Write careful speeches the whole world reads. But the ones who suffer aren’t the ones who lead, And their tired hearts keep saying to me: too much war, not enough peace. We’ve got too much war and not enough peace, Too many broken hearts crying in the streets. Everybody’s talking like the answers are cheap, But there’s too much war and not enough peace!!! Maybe one day we’ll live what we preach, Care more for people than for power and fleets. Till then, every promise feels out of reach, And the song we’re singing together will be: too much war, not enough peace. If we all want the same thing, for the fighting to cease, What’s the point of all these long talks of peace? The bombs keep falling and the fear doesn’t end, What kind of message to our young does this send? We’ve got too much war and not enough peace, Too many broken hearts crying in the streets. Everybody’s talking like the answers are cheap, But there’s too much war and not enough peace. We’ve got too much war and not enough peace, Too many broken hearts crying in the streets. Everybody’s talking like the answers are cheap, But there’s too much war and not enough peace!!! there’s too much war and not enough peace!!!
