I used to know the man staring back,

Rough hands, strong heart, never lost track.

Now all I see’s a stranger’s face,

With bloodshot eyes and lines I can’t erase.

Whiskey don’t numb it, and prayers don’t heal,

Ain’t sure where I lost what used to feel real.

I swear I was someone worth bein’, you see,

But the man in the mirror ain’t me.

The man in the mirror’s got a cold, dead stare,

Like he’s seen too much but don’t even care.

A ghost of the good man I used to be,

Ain’t just the years, it’s the miles too,

All the sins I’ve carried, all the hell I’ve been through.

I told myself I’d never change,

But that damn reflection don’t look the same.
