Night falls heavy, mind's unsteady

Shadows dance, thoughts spinning free

Can’t find the peace in this scarred mind

Lost in the chaos, trying to breathe

Hours blur into endless grey

Work binds me in chains each day

Sleep is a stranger I can't meet

Dreams decayed beneath my feet

Running on fumes, in this mental maze

Fraying at the edges, caught in a craze

Fighting the whispers, battling the doubt

Is this my mind or a silent shout?

Blurring the lines, losing my grip

Falling into an endless trip

Sanity slipping away, can't define

Am I still me or lost in the asylum’s line?

Eyes wide open, shadows creep

Losing semblance, haunting sleep

Work drains the soul till there's nothing left

Fading into this darkened net

Echoes of normalcy, distant and faint

Resisting the madness, fighting the taint

Stay afloat in a sea of despair

Or drown in the silence, gasping for air?

Blurring the lines, losing my grip

Can’t tell what's real or just a mind’s retreat

In this asylum, I accept defeat

Break these chains, find the dawn

Hope is a whisper, faint but gone
