Knives and pens

I've carved my name into this skin

One cut deep for every sin

These walls don't listen, but they know

Where the blood and ink still flow

Write me off, break me in

Every word, a way to begin

Knives and pens — that’s all I’ve known

One to hurt, one to feel less alone

You choose the blade, I choose the page

But we both bleed the same rage

I burned the letters you never read

Buried them deep with things unsaid

But silence screams the loudest truth

And scars are louder than our youth

Some speak with fire, some with ink

Either way, we’re on the brink

Knives and pens — that’s all I’ve known

One to carve, one to build a home

You swing to kill, I write to breathe

But we both wear pain on our sleeves

Will you cut... or will you write?

Will you burn... or will you fight?

This is the war they never see —

The one that lives inside of me

Knives and pens — make your choice!

Cut your flesh or find your voice!

One to break, one to make me whole

Words like wounds, sharp and true

But I’d rather write than be like you
