A swan stuck in a cage
Can’t fly, can’t sing, can’t turn the page
Can’t be with her pair, can’t breathe deep air
Without breaking rules, without a stare
With every step she tries to make
The cagers rage, the silence breaks
They scream, they scramble, tear her down
And still she moves, without a sound
Their voices sharp like winter wind
Cutting deeper than her skin
Scars beneath the snow-white grace
Bleeding where no eyes will trace
But her heart keeps beating, wild and wide
Wings still aching for the sky
Even caged, she holds the flame
Of a song they couldn’t tame
One day soon, she'll rise and soar
A voice unchained forevermore
They say, “Be still, don't dream too loud”
She bows her head beneath the shroud
But in her chest, a storm ignites
A rebel soul that burns for flight
She dreams of skies with no more bars
A place where wounds can turn to stars
And though they push, and though she bends
She’s writing songs they cannot end
The pain they give, she turns to gold
A silent fire, fierce and bold
Behind the feathers, bruised and torn
A force of nature still unborn
But her heart keeps beating, wild and wide
Wings still aching for the sky
Even caged, she holds the flame
Of a song they couldn’t tame
One day soon, she'll rise and soar
A voice unchained forevermore
Let them scream, let them rage
She’s not meant to die in a cage
Let them try to clip her flight
She was made for open light
‘Cause her heart keeps beating, wild and wide
Wings still aching for the sky
Even bruised, she holds the flame
Of a soul they couldn’t claim
One day soon, she’ll break the door
And sing so loud, they cage no more
