We Where Young

We were young, chasing after dreams,

Running wild with our hearts set free.

Two kids believing we could touch the sky,

Never knowing how fast the years would fly.

We had nothing but a little bit of hope,

Learning life as we learned to cope.

Every wrong turn, every broken road,

Made us stronger than we’d ever know.

And time kept moving, seasons changed,

But your hand still feels the same.

I loved you when we were young,

Before we knew what life would become.

Before the years and the world moved on,

You were the place where I belonged.

We grew together, we stood tall,

Through every rise and every fall.

And after everything we’ve been through,

I’d still choose a life with you.

We made memories we’ll never lose,

Old photographs and worn-out shoes.

The late-night talks, the dreams we chased,

The little moments time can’t erase.

Life got harder, the road got long,

But somehow we kept holding on.

Every chapter, every scar,

Brought us right back to where we are.

If I could go back and see us then,

I’d tell those kids they’d find their way.

The greatest thing they’d ever do,

Was build a life together, me and you.

I loved you when we were young,

And I love who we’ve become.

Through every storm, through every change,

You were the sunshine through the rain.

We’re older now, but my heart still knows,

You’re the place my story goes.

From those first days to all we’ve been through,

I’d fall in love all over again with you.
