Shattered Wires

Broken glass on the ground

Streetlights hum like angry ghosts

Shadows whisper my name again

Empty bottles on the shelf

Promises cracked like my reflection

Fingers trembling can't grab the night

Shattered wires tangled in the sky

Tell me why why why I can't fly

Burning bridges light the way I go

But the flames only show what I don’t know

Rusty chains wrapped around my head

Dreams weigh heavy like lead on my chest

Voices scream but they don’t connect

Footsteps echo in the hollow halls

Walls don’t listen when I start to fall

Every question bounces back like a curse

What’s the answer what’s the point

Is it broken or was it never whole
