A Humble Birth

In Bethlehem the stars were bright,
A humble birth took place that night.
The child was wrapped in cloth so fair,
God’s gift of love was lying there.

The shepherds watched, their fires aglow,
When heaven’s light began to show.
An angel spoke with voice so clear,
“Good news of joy for all to hear.”

So every heart lift up His name,
Let praise and faith His truth proclaim.
For through the child the world was blessed,
Jehovah’s will through love expressed.

They ran to see this wondrous thing,
The promised hope the angels sing.
They found the boy, the scene so mild,
And bowed before the holy child.

Their hearts were full, their voices raised,
Jehovah’s name was gladly praised.
They told the world what they had seen,
How God had sent the promised King.
